That is why we have invested $85.9 million in our new Adaptation on Climate Change strategy. “Under the strategy, we will implement several new initiatives that will complement our Turning the Corner Action Plan that will aggressively combat climate change and reduce greenhouse gas emissions. “On World Health Day, and every day, this government is serious about improving the Health and the environment of Canadians and I’m proud that we’re getting the job done! Thank you.” This year, World Health Day focuses on the need to protect health from the adverse effects of climate change. The World Heath Organization selected this theme in recognition that climate change is posing ever growing threats to global public health security. |
