Creating jobs for Manitobans with Home Renovation Tax Credit
January 18, 2010
(Winnipeg) – The Honourable Steven Fletcher, Member of Parliament for Charleswood-St. James-Assiniboia is reminding families in Manitoba that they only have 14 days left to take advantage of the government of Canada’s Home Renovation Tax Credit.

“The Home Renovation Tax Credit is making it easier for Manitoba families to make needed home improvements this year rather than putting them off until later,” said Fletcher. “This means more employment opportunities for trade workers and at home improvements retailers.”

The Government of Canada introduced the Home Renovation Tax Credit through the Economic Action Plan to help stimulate the economy and create jobs. Canadians who are undertaking the eligible home renovations can see up to $1,350 in tax relief. Homeowners have until February 1, 2010 to take advantage of this tax credit.

“With the millions of Canadians already using this tax credit, many more jobs are being created across the country,” said Fletcher. “Our government is continuing to more forward with implementing stimulus projects to ensure economic growth and job creation.”
